When Crysis 2 hit stores on March 22nd it became Crytek’s first multi-platform game to be developed solely by their studios throughout the world. Because of the level of work required to ensure that all three versions of the game were equally as good, Crytek decided on implementing DX 11 features post launch. Post release, the studio’s developers were free to focus only on the PC version of the game, and so for the past few months they have been beavering away in their offices to create the most extensive and advanced DirectX 11 features seen in any game to date.

Facebook lovers name child 'Like' in honour of Mark Zuckerberg's site

Following on from the Facebook-loving couple who named their child after Mark Zuckerberg’s social network, Israeli mum and dad Lior and Vardit Adler have called their newborn daughter ‘Like’. Yes, really.

The ‘Like’ button on Facebook, as with YouTube’s ‘thumbs up’ feature, is there to let users signal their approval of friends’ comments, status updates, photos, videos and the like.

Legendary Composer HANS ZIMMER Contributes To Riveting CRYSIS 2 SCORE

EA and Crytek have teamed up with legendary composer Hans Zimmer, who created part of the dramatic score for the critically acclaimed first-person shooter Crysis 2, which has already earned Editor’s Choice awards and a 9/10 from both Official Xbox Magazine (UK) and PC Action (Germany). Recognized worldwide for his work on blockbuster films like “Inception” and “The Dark Knight”, Zimmer and his team featuring Lorne Balfe worked with the existing composers Borislav Slavov and Tilman Sillescu to create the intense and dramatic score for Crysis 2 which sets the tone for the game’s backdrop of a devastated New York City in 2023.

Thousands of fans queue overnight as ‘biggest-selling’ video game Call of Duty: Black Ops goes on sale

Computer game fans queued in wintry weather overnight to get their hands on the latest block-busting release.

The hotly-anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops went on sale at midnight at hundreds of stores across the country, with many seeing lines of purchasers form outside the door.

The 18-rated commando game in which players take the role of special forces agents in places like Russia and Vietnam, is expected to become the fastest and biggest-selling title in history with well over one million sales in the first week alone.
